Image Enhancement System utilizes an advanced, patented noise-reduction algorithm originally developed for satellite data analysis.
Unlike existing technologies that compromise image sharpness through the application of smoothing algorithms, the IES enhances images by performing 3 processes simultaneously: the IES analyzes every pixel and isolates unwanted noise, it increases the apparent signal-to-noise ratio by filtering the noise, and it retains and enhances image details.
In this method, the image is analyzed with regard to structure location (edges and lines), orientation and curvature. In image segment areas where no structures are found, noise reduction is automatically performed. In areas where there is structure, the location, orientation, and curvature of structures are accounted for and image sharpness is maintained by preserving the integrity of the structures through the use of high-pass filtering. As a result, this unique method makes an image sharper while simultaneously reducing noise.
